AutoBase Material Discrepancy Protocol
Zero-tolerance policy for mileage rollback, VIN tampering, and unlisted accident damage.
1. Automated Discrepancy Detection
When an AutoBase Field Inspector completes a physical inspection, the system automatically runs algorithmic comparisons against the seller's initial listing. If physical findings deviate materially (e.g. odometer discrepancy > 3,000 km, chassis plate mismatch, or detected frame filler repair), the system places the transaction into INSPECTION_DISCREPANCY state.
2. Automatic Settlement Freeze
When a material discrepancy is flagged, all escrow funds are frozen. Settlement to the seller is blocked. The buyer receives full transparent findings and can choose to:
- Cancel & Full Escrow Refund: 100% of the vehicle deposit is refunded immediately to the buyer.
- Renegotiate: Request a lower price reflecting the inspected condition.
- Accept & Proceed: Buyer acknowledges findings and authorizes handover.
- Escalate to AutoBase Dispute Officer: Request manual platform arbitration.
